The Thirteenth Doctor = not terrible
Failed to realise my worst fears so that's no so bad. Nonetheless, not particularly good.
However I did like the alien who cheats, that was novel.
I'm sure it will improve, most Doctors start a little uncertain and settle down later. Hopefully they bury the diversity angles now that they've made their points.

My wife pointed out she sounded like a female David Tennant. Which is a good thing, I think.
Not surprising, either, since Chris Chibnall (a long-time Doctor Who fan and writer) wrote the Broadchurch series with both David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker.
He seems to have a good handle both on the 'horror' aspects of Dr. Who, and the light playful banter aspects of the show at the same time.
Hopefully, he can avoid the tendency of Dr. Who writers and producers to keep wanting to 'top' themselves, leading to grander and grader plot-lines and eventually burning out the writers.
So far, looks really good.

Chibnall is a mediocre writer. He has written four scripts before this and they were all ordinary, all involving implausible saves. This one was probably his least worst. But he retains form. Let's build a transmat out of bits and pieces I find in this garage. Urk.

David Tennant was the worst of the new era.

Eccleston was a pretty good Doctor.
The BBC tried to end his career by blacklisting him when he refused to do any more episodes than he was originally contracted for.
Fuck the BBC
