RIP Philo

Anyone here explored Gab.Ai?

I'm trying it.

It looks superficially like an ad-less Facebook or like VK (VContakte).

It has an extremely indie, pre-web feel, sort of like unmoderated USENET newsgroups or a political forum from the 1990s.

But OMG. It's literally everything that social media has disallowed and banned. I'm wondering if it's a CIA or NSA honeypot. Another comparison is the dark web without the drugs and murder for hire.

I do notice absolutely no trace of leftism or progressivism on it. They would definitely get hassled, but they could invade Gab and balance out the numbers a bit and nobody would ban them outright. It appears that the left has red-lined this site and stays off entirely.

August 8th, 2018 6:00pm was created by alt-right people who were banned from Twitter.  That's probably the reason it's got people on the extreme right only.

I'm pretty sure most of the super racist shit on these sites is posted by Soros' 50 cent army of paid leftist agitators. Goal is to discredit any sites that allow any conservative views whatsoever by making them look like hotbeds of KKK members and Nazis.

Breaking news.

Gab is hosted on Microsoft servers.

Microsoft has given them 48 hours, starting today, to deplatform and remove all conservative content, or they will be banned from using any Microsoft servers or technology.

Fuck Microsoft!

For critical analysis lets look at two of the example posts that Microsoft says can not be hosted on software run by their customers. Posts are given for critical analysis ONLY, and historical archiving purposes, both fair use. No one here advocates the point of view shown.

No amount of suffering could repay, eye for an eye, the debt the jew owes the world... given their current population numbers.

... but after putting on a jew thinking hat: Introducing a plan to raise jews as livestock, providing a steady supply of vessels for vengeance for the hundreds of years of jew crops that will have to be raised for ritual death by torture.

Count down to a live stream of me taking a sledge hammer to a holohoax memorial in twelve months.

Will someone take this cross from me?

So these are of course offensive and ignorant trash talk. But not illegal. Gab wishes to host such content, and in fact, under the law if it moderates some posts it is responsible for all of them. So moderating these posts can expose them to greater legal responsibility, not less.

It's extremely obvious to me that Patrick_little is part of the Soros 50¢ army that constantly posts absolute bullshit about "holohoax" and "hail der fuhrer" crap on every free speech board in existence in order to get the credibility of the free speech board undermined, get it banned from the internet, and discredit anyone who dares to post on that platform, even if those people say nothing offensive.

These posts are so similar across platforms that Patrick_little may not even be a human at all but may be an army of human assisted bots which post algorithmic offensive crap, and occasional when their botness is called out a human operator is routed through to the shadow account.

The_Donald recognized that these sorts of posts are posted by paid leftists in order to discredit the group and has a zero-tolerance policy. All such posts result in post deletion and instant perma-banning.

Forgot to mention, I consider it to be 95%+ chance Patrick_little reported his own posts to Microsoft.

Anyone for self hosting?

I just found a home page on for a Thule Society follower.

What's interesting is that MS is complaining that the two sample posts are phishing related. Neither one even has a link.

I switched a long time ago. My hosting is all outside US jurisdiction, specifically on servers owned by anarchists that don't respond to take down requests or subpoenas. Not that I am doing anything dodgy. I just prefer free speech.

"What's interesting is that MS is complaining that the two sample posts are phishing related."

Yeah it's hard to know what to make of that claim. On gab some believe it is evidence Microsoft didn't even review the link before issuing their threat.

Maybe. Who knows.

Important part here is we see the writing on the wall. Every major cloud computing platform the server host is now looking at all your private business traffic and policing it for you and issuing threats if they don't like your content. These are https sites and the cloud guys are peeking at what is happening before encryption, so called deep packet inspection, but extra deep, before encryption. They do it for this, they also peek at your banking and stock trading traffic as well.

This is what I've been saying about the cloud all along. Who would be insane enough to entrust their competitor with all their proprietary and secret business info.

Bob: "I'm safe, I've got https! Middleman can't get to the data."

Amy: "But Bob. You're the middleman here."

The guy's getting all of these offers to help move him to a LAMP or Node.js platform. He really needs to be generic and get rid of the branded one-vendor Azure cloud stuff.

These posts are visible even if you aren't logged in.

What about just spidering the site?

Yes, corporations are bought and paid for and are seemingly allowed to be biased against some content but not others.
