We’re taking on Canada!
QUEBEC CITY — President Trump upended two days of global economic diplomacy late Saturday, refusing to sign a joint statement with America’s allies, threatening to escalate his trade war on the country’s neighbors and deriding Canada’s prime minister as “very dishonest and weak.”
In a remarkable pair of acrimony-laced tweets from aboard Air Force One as he flew away from the Group of 7 summit toward a meeting with North Korea’s leader, Mr. Trump lashed out at Justin Trudeau. He accused the prime minister, who hosted the seven-nation gathering, of making false statements.
Literally moments after Mr. Trudeau’s government proudly released the joint statement, noting it had been agreed to by all seven countries, Mr. Trump blew apart the veneer of cordiality that had prevailed throughout the two days of meetings in a resort town on the banks of the St. Lawrence River.
“Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!” Mr. Trump wrote.

Dishonest and weak is an excellent description of Justin Trudeau as the Canadian general population are slowly realising.

So the false claim is that the statement was agreed on by seven nations, and it was actually 6, with the US not agreeing?
That seems a pretty huge thing to get wrong. Was Trudeau really lying or was he somehow confused about the US position?

BTW, anyone who has ever tried to ship things to Canada knows they are unbelievably protectionist.

Oh, Trump said he'll be more willing to talk if it's back to a G-8 with Russia and not a G-7. Ha ha ha!

The thought that I've had since Trump first mentioned bringing Russia back in from the cold was that he wants a US/Russia bloc or understanding, to counterbalance the rise of China.

When Trudeau rolls over for Trump, his weakness will be clear for all to see.

Oh yeah, Trump has to have a viable and believable alternative in these sorts of high stakes negotiations.
So, business as usual is OUT.
What he proposes is:
G-8 with US/Russia block to balance the others.
G-2 vs G-6, and G-2 suddenly the #1 trading block in the world, with a huge tariff wall between G-2 and G-6.
I like both these possibilities! And Russia is totally going to go along with it just as a big FU to the G-6 group who kicked them out.

Over the next couple of weeks we’re going to see the MSM reporting how Canada had already realised that it’s tariffs were actually harming its own economy and were unsustainable, so that when Trudeau rolls over they’ll be able to claim they were going to drop them anyway and it had nothing to do with Trump.

Just kick the US out and bring Russia in. Get back to having grown-ups at the table.
June 10th, 2018 5:44am
"Canada will claim"
You just know they are going to do this over Korean unification. MSM and Nobel prize committee will both argue it had nothing to do with Trump at all.
If you want grown ups at the table, that's the Russia-US table.
