My employer provides those to all full-time employees. Is there something strange about that? Most people sit but I like to alternate between sitting and standing. I feel more productive because after long periods of sitting, I feel fatigued and unable to focus.

Not strange but it’s a bit ..,  special?

I've seen these at numerous places in town, mostly large companies.

Even the last place, which was cheap as fuck, would buy an adjustable standing desk if you had a doctor's note.

Where do you work (geographically), Baden?

Standing is healthy, and burns significantly more calories than sitting. Sitting for 9 hours a day is very unhealthy, causing all sorts of later problems. I'm not sure why anyone would be dissing a mixture of sitting and standing.
