No, dopey, I would not go into Syria

With American intentions so clearly forecast by Mr. Trump, the Syrian government has moved aircraft to the Russian base near Latakia, and is taking pains to secure important weapons systems, military analysts said.

Older folks on the board will remember past times where leaders telegraphed exact battle plans well in advance...

I can't recall any of those cases resulting in those battle plans going down as the leader described, but I do recall that every single time the enemy responded as if they were real plans, and moved their stuff around exactly as we wanted them to.

There's no harm in saying something publicly and then monitoring any reactions.

US energy policy requires cheap oil from OPEC. This requires alignment with Sunni regimes particular al Saud. Saudi requires that Shia Iran's contract with Syria for pipeline not be honored, and that Assad's refusal of Sunni pipeline be  reversed by deposing Assad.

US has no choice but to depose Assad and install a Wahabbist fundamentalist puppet controlled by Saudi.

Only problem is Russia doesn't want any of that since they want their pipeline to have exclusive access to Europe, which means they can charge more.

So it's US vs Russia.

Trump didn't understand this when he was elected. Now he does - that Saudi friendship and eternal war against Shia is the US policy and what is best for American energy thirst.

Because it helps them sell arms to the Saudis?
