Haha Trump sold out America to desperately try to win Penn
The whole tariff ruse was just a cheap ploy to try to get the Pennsylvania election (which would be a massive embarrassment if lost). Massive damage to US credibility and trade relations.
Come on. Use some logic. When the US owes China 1B, it is the US' problem. When the US owes China 1T, it is China's problem.
If you have a 900B trade deficit a year, you stop trading. Who's the loser? Keep in mind that the US has everything it needs. We are not talking about resource starved Japan here, mate.
Anyone who thinks a presidential decision to do something like that has a single reason is an idiot.
When you have gazillion items for sales and the customer aint buying, you are fucked! You need to look at the definition of Sunk cost! Hello, China!
`Anyone who thinks a presidential decision to do something like that has a single reason is an idiot.'
Trump pulled this out of his ass, against every single bit of advice, against his own party, against congress, against the senate, against economic good will, etc, just before stumping in Penn. Yeah, there was one reason, fuckface.
Better still, he's rolling over because of how stupid it is, exemptions piling up.
The US has a trade problem with China. Maybe stop giving it most favored nation status over and over again? Steel and aluminum has jack shit to do with it though, and paradoxically would make the trade balance worse, and make american manufacturers less competitive.
Trump isn't playing 4D chess. He's playing 1D checkers, without forced takes. He plays so incredibly stupidly that people just desperately try to see some clever side game that just isn't there.
