Another historical statue bites the dust

Using revisionist logic, 'foot soldier' in Birmingham, Alabama needs to come down because it grossly distorts the truth:
The statue (based on a photo taken by Bill Hudson) depicts a fearsome looking white police officer turning loose a ferocious wolf-like beast upon a defenceless young black protester.
The reality is:
The policeman was trying to STOP the dog attacking and never lived down his defamatory portrayal.
The kid (Walter Gadsden) was not a civil rights protester, he was just an innocent bystander skipping school. In interviews he says he believes the civil rights movement to be corrupt and not in any way beneficial to him and says his portrayal is too 'black' (he doesn't like the big lips).
The kid was actually taller than the policeman.
The dog was smaller and less wolf like.
The artist (Ronald 'Mac' McDowell) is on record openly admitting to his distortions of the truth.
