Give ne back my hat!

New Franken accuser

“He was between me and the door and he was coming at me to kiss me. It was very quick and I think my brain had to work really hard to be like ‘Wait, what is happening?’ But I knew whatever was happening was not right and I ducked,” she told Politico. “I was really startled by it and I just sort of booked it towards the door.”

The former aide said that as she left, Franken told her, “It’s my right as an entertainer.” She told Politico that she did not respond to Franken.

Franken denied the allegation in a statement to Politico.

Using this new standard Weinstein did nothing wrong either! All his encounters the woman either managed to escape or it was consensual where she submitted to him after he locked all the doors.

I do think though that 90% of the recent "sex crimes" accounts against various people sounds completely like completely normal "alpha male" behavior that's been around for thousands of years.

A lot of guys pursue women like this and a lot of women respond favorably to the attention when it comes from a perceived high value male (rich, famous, confident, person of influence, and/or good looking), and not so much when it comes from a low value one (none of the above). What's new is this being seen as a universally bad thing. Has caught a lot of guys unaware.

It's a continuum though. Reports of Franken being an aggressive groper and cornerer is pretty low key compared to Weinstein having a massive international network of other high profile people whom he owned and controlled who would cover for him and work hard to destroy women who rebuffed him or threatened to tell anyone.

"Nobody talks like that!"

From a normal person sure but him saying that as a joke sounds just like him. He was a professional comedian.

"Kiss me!"

"No!"

"But it's my right as an entertainer!"

"Piss off!"

"OK, fine."

It seems most of the Franken incidents he's acknowledged and all of them have a sort of comedy aspect to them. I can see some women feeling uncomfortable about it and it crossing a line but good comedians cross lines, say inappropriate things, and make people feel uncomfortable all the time.

Like with the G HW Bush stuff, now that he knows not everyone is amused by these antics, he should stop doing it.

If you analyse the behaviour of most men in romantic movies and TV, if they weren't hot, they'd be considered creepy stalkers.

> TV and movies are not real life.

But they are the moral gauge points for society.

Individuals are generally secretive with their most intimate behaviour, so moral test cases are presented sparingly in common life, and the news concentrates on extreme cases that go public.

So theatre, sermons, books, films and video will form an important reference point for most people.

Hollywood induced moral gauge points may be normal but that doesn't mean women still won't be having quiet anxiety attacks out because some confident but quirky rich guy is pursuing them like a creepy stalker.

The moral gauge points only define how women will respond to them, ranging from either pretending it's not happening and assume their anxiety attacks are because something is wrong with them, or  something wrong with themselves, or publicly calling them out for what they are: creepy stalkers.

“We don’t think that was my voice,” Mr. Trump told the senator, according to a person familiar with the conversation. Since then, Mr. Trump has continued to suggest that the “Access Hollywood” tape that nearly upended his campaign was not actually him, according to three people close to the president.

Yeah isn't that crazy? When is a woman able to consent? Never? When her father sells her?

Monica's kind of irrelevant in this. However, Bill was married at the time Monica put her tongue up his ass, according to the very detailed and fascinating account in the Starr Report, which I recommend to anyone wanting to find out about bizarre sex practices they didn't know about before.

I don't know man. I downloaded it the morning of 9/11/1998 via a 1200 baud modem and dial up service. No idea if I still have a copy of it.

"And I'm supposed to be the religious fanatic."

What else is one to respond to a claim that a 22 yr old adult woman and college graduate is not able to consent to a sexual relationship with another adult?

Saying she isn't is absolute madness. It's the sort of claim you only see in places that are overridden with Wahhabism, where the only consent that is relevant is that of the man, whether he is having sex with his 9 year old bride, or a 6 month old infant to whom he is betrothed.
