Agree that Jerusalem is Israel's capital. An embassy doesn't have to be in a capital city, but it usually is.

Also agree that the "international community" doesn't recognize it as the capital. That seems to be their problem though since it's not up to them.

Just as SJWs reeeeee at the slightest provocation, Muslims do terrorism and bloodletting at the slightest provocation.

Therefore there will be many terrorist attacks against Israel and the US in response to this move, citing this move as the justification, and issuing demands that US and Israel move out of Jerusalem, which won't happen. However the attacks against the US that will follow the move will dramatically increase US attacks against randomly selected muslim targets worldwide.

Trump's motives are completely naive.  But hey, kicking off a long-simmering frustration, that was never going to be resolved, into a full-blown war, does have a way of clarifying positions.

I mean, the Palestinians have had FIFTY YEARS to get used to the idea that the Israeli's took over East Jerusalem in the 1967 war.  And negotiate honestly with Israel about it.  And they haven't done that.

That's no justification for starting a war over it, of course, but Trump in his "Bull in a China Shop" mode doesn't care about such concerns.

What exactly do they have to negotiate? Almost every single Palestinian settlement in the west bank is surrounded by settlers and soldiers and they're slowly squeezing even more land out.

Their only two bargaining chips are the threat of violence and the outside world feeling sorry for them, which usually only happens when the outside world is reminded of their existence, which only happens when they are violent.

Because that would mean that there's a double standard.

Because if it's OK for the Hashemite regime to "occupy" Judea and Samaria, it should be OK for Israel to "occupy" it as well.

Well, we in the US get a tremendous amount of things from Israel, and all we get from the entire Arab world is oil. Which they can't not sell us because they literally have nothing else to sell. Which we don't need anymore. Which we would be better off not using at all.

Anyone remember Revelation 17? It describes the Whore of Babylon, who colludes with the empires of earth to do evil and is represented by seven hills, and is a city - so this obviously refers to the seven hills of Rome and the Vatican.

--------

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, ‘Come, I will show you the judgement of the great whore who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and with the wine of whose fornication the inhabitants of the earth have become drunk.’ So he carried me away in the spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication; and on her forehead was written a name, a mystery: ‘Babylon the great, mother of whores and of earth’s abominations.’ And I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of the witnesses to Jesus.

When I saw her, I was greatly amazed. But the angel said to me, ‘Why are you so amazed? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the inhabitants of the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.

‘This calls for a mind that has wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; also, they are seven kings, of whom five have fallen, one is living, and the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain for only a little while. As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are united in yielding their power and authority to the beast; they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.’

And he said to me, ‘The waters that you saw, where the whore is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the whore; they will make her desolate and naked; they will devour her flesh and burn her up with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by agreeing to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled. The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.’

“Jerusalem has always been the most delicate issue in every discussion about peace,” said Rabbi Rick Jacobs, president of the Union for Reform Judaism, the largest branch of American Judaism. “So we’re very concerned that the announcement will either delay or undermine the very, very important resuming of a serious peace process.”

What serious peace process? Sounds like a crock of shit.

Since when does the UN or any other nation have ANY authority whatsoever to tell a sovereign nation where their capital is or isn't? Israel has signed to treaty delegating that authority to the UN or anyone else.

Vanuatu, Taiwan and the US recognize Jerusalem as the capital.

In the US the US Congress has passed multiple acts and resolutions acknowledging Jerusalem as the capital and even ordering that the US move the embassy there.

However, the claim has been made for years that only the President has the authority to recognize any other country's territory and that it is simply not up to Congress or the courts at all.

Trump's doing the stated will of Congress and the people, and he is recognized as the sole authority who is able to do so legally in this case.

6 million Jews in Israel.
6 million Jews in US.
3 million Jews in other countries.

Reform claims 1.8 million Jews globally, which they state includes 1 million actual members, and 800k "unaffiliated individuals" who they think would identify as reform if they only knew about it. So that's 1 million actually, the rest are imaginary.

Reform claims that 38% of Jews in the US are reform and therefore they are the largest group in the US.

Let's see. They have 1 million Reform Jews worldwide. And 6 million Jews of any kind in the US.

If all the Reform Jews are in the US, then that's 1/6 = 18% Reform. But we know not all Reform Jews are in the US, so it's less than 18%.

Reform's claims about being the largest jewish sect are absurd.

Also, tons of "Jews" that attend Reform temples do NOT have Jewish mothers and have NOT undergone a process of conversion. They are NOT jews.

What you are saying here is very interesting. It reminds me a lot of Elizabeth Warren's claims she is Cherokee.

There are three federally recognized Cherokee tribes. They are the Cherokee Tribe of Oklahoma, the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

Elizabeth Warren agrees that she is not a citizen of the Cherokee Tribe of Oklahoma.

Elizabeth Warren also agrees that she is not a citizen of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians.

Elizabeth Warren also agrees that she is not a citizen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

When asked if her father is a Cherokee citizen, Elizabeth Warren admits, no, her father is not a Cherokee citizen.

When asked if her mother is a Cherokee citizen, Elizabeth Warren admits, no, her mother is not a Cherokee citizen.

Yet Elizabeth Warren is Cherokee.

This sounds very similar to this thing you mention Reform Judaism. The Jews are also a tribe. But you say some members of this Reform thing do not have parents who are members of the tribe, and they also have not gone through a process of joining the tribe and been accepted. So how is it that they are members of the tribe as they claim?

Clearly something similar to what Elizabeth Warren is saying.
