So is this just a rename of FogBugz? The web site seems really vague.

Look like it. FogBugz.com forwards.. Maybe new and they migrated their remaining customers.

SO having layoffs, FogBugz with no user base, forced to re-brand..  Joel an't doing so well...

Should have kept that blog up, and not killed the community. Hows he gonna promote his new stuff?
(I'm sure he don't need the money anyhow)

What I infer from this, and I'm pretty sure I'm right, is that the opportunity arose to purchase a common single english word domain name, so they did. Then they stuck something there.

There's no way in hell they invented a product called manuscript and then bought the domain.

Also, the name makes no sense for what it is. Ug.

> Based on the engine of FogBugz, the platform that pioneered bug tracking, Manuscript is a purpose built project management tool for software teams.

I read that as "This is FogBugz 1.2".

Was this another summer intern project?

Joel slogged away for years before he got it right with SO and Trello.

It's possible he will never be that successful again.

He's a multi-millionaire, he'll get by.

Is Trello "right"?

I've never used it, and know no one who has used it.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Trello got sold off to Atlassian for something crazy like half a billion.

The big question is...

...is Joel happy with his car doors?

Trello was released when kanban\lean was being hyped.

I wager it is the most used tool for that purpose.

Why does Joel have such a stellar reputation for tech business? His reasoning seems to be crap.

That branding is pure SHIT. "Manuscript"... I think of a high end special purpose word processor - NOTHING to do with code.

Exactly. Gives the impression of monks with quill pens writing by candlelight. Yeah, that's the tool I want to use to develop code with.
