So I wrote the following in the thread below:
"The HR guy stated the manager is available on Tues and Thurs morning and asked what time I am available those two days. I let him know and he sends me an email scheduling it for Wednesday. Wtf? I am available then but now I am thinking maybe he made a mistake. Now I have to get back to him and clear that up in case it is scheduled for Tues."
Guess what? I e-mailed him back and confirmed the date/time that he gave me.
I dialed in today (Wednesday) and nobody was on the call, not the HR person or the manager. I called twice just to make sure I had the right number.
He obviously screwed up or Legion was correct that this is some kind of a test. I did not have the HR guy's phone number and could not call him.
I sent him an e-mail politely informing him that I called and that there was nobody on the line. Then let him know when I am available this week. The ball is in their court now. Maybe I should have handled this differently?
This hiring manager seems to be in the same location as my old boss (I have worked for this company before. I wonder if the old boss and her are not fucking with me....maybe he is pissed that I didn't try to contact him or whatever. Or maybe they are playing a game because I did not answer the current salary question on the app or did not respond "fast enough" when the recruiter first contacted me via email. Hard to tell. How would you guys handle this?
