Quantopian screws it's users
"We have decided to stop supporting live trading through brokerages (Interactive Brokers and Robinhood) on Quantopian. September 29th will be the last day of trading through a broker." ( https://www.quantopian.com/posts/live-trading-being-shutdown-my-response
One guy's comment: "I understand that company goals change, but for those that have slaved hours to learn your system for the sole purpose of personal trading, you can't give more than a 40 day notice?"

This is what happens when you RELY on the web or the companies that run these ONLINE businesses for your business processes, or even more egregiously, your data.
Fuck that. I DON'T RELY on the web for ANYTHING.
I have NO data on the web and I don't rely on online companies for my business processing.
I understood the risk this posed back in 2002 when we all saw .COMs blow up in the bubble.
Some dumb fuck internet users never learn their lessons, and thus, will suffer the consequences.
You deserve it clowns. This is why I railed on companies that rely on SAAS using the cloud as their primary product. Ummm fuck that.
I will NEVER work with companies or keep PERSONAL data on the cloud unless it becomes absolutely necessary. And if I do utilize a cloud service for data, you can bet I will have a back up plan when some shit like the company just goes out of business, removes its online presence, or changes its terms of agreement.

Cloud computing just means trusting your data on other peoples servers.

Interesting story: NASA was going to use Microsoft's "Cloud Server" products. Only some of NASA's data is "SBU" -- aka "Sensitive But Unclassified".
So they sent around a memo saying that we couldn't USE the "Cloud Server" products, because those are under Microsoft's control, and therefore out of the control of NASA and its contractors.
