Beside here?

What does that even mean?

Are you saying there is ... something else out there?

Most often checked:

http://nu.nl
a Dutch news site that reports fast on both international and national issues. Generally reliable.

http://www.telegraaf.nl
the website of the largest Dutch newspaper. A bit right wing, but also fast and reliable.

http://www.geenstijl.nl
independent agitating website that finds the painful stories that are suppressed by the 'decent' media.

http://www.bbc.com/news
to read what the wankers of the British establishment want us to think.

https://www.rt.com/
to read Putins view of the of the world.

https://www.welt.de/
to get a boringly deep analysis of German politics.

https://www.theguardian.com/international
to pick up some of the more liberal accents in the news.

Then various sites that I check once and a while for events that affect their area:
http://www.aljazeera.com/
https://www.washingtonpost.com/
http://www.lefigaro.fr/
http://www.lemonde.fr/
http://www.zeit.de/index
http://www.independent.co.uk/

The Economist

BBC although not very much as it is so dumbed down now.

Reddit but not very much because there is so much click bait.

Mostly though I'm trying to wean myself off keeping up with the news, it doesn't provide any real benefits.

*to read what the wankers of the British establishment want us to think.*

I'm afraid we have rather a lot of those at the moment, for a particularly extreme example read up on our minister for the nineteenth century: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacob_Rees-Mogg

I have seen that Jacob Rees-Mogg on 'Have I got News for you', but he didn't strike me as an evil mind, contrary to many other politicians.

Just very, very, very old fashioned.

But also amusing.

Rees-Mogg is a Euroskeptic, which puts him on the right side of history, and is opposed to faggotry and gay marriage, which also puts him on the right side of history. Men putting their penises in other men's butts is an abomination and spreads disease. It is opposed by all reasonable and sensible people.

I can understand why he is hated in England though. He is a Catholic. They beheaded Catholics in England.
