I keep hearing about this Geocities thing. Maybe some day I will try it.

Darn pidgin

Pidgin-esse, more precisely. Has made a nest in my balcony, laid two eggs and shitted all around.

Nest and eggs are in the trash now.

Now, now, it's up to us to have stewardship over our property.

If he wanted to have a family, he should have found a nice tree somewhere.  Messing up somebody's balcony is just too much.

Their feces carry diseases, too.  Don't breathe them, if you can avoid it.

Io killed un-armed pidgin eggs. These two eggs don't have any gun to defend themselves.

He? I think it is a female pidgin. She is being discriminated for being a pidgin. Also she hasn't gone to humans architecture school to recognize the difference between a tree and a tree house.

How do you know the eggs were viable?

Io violated natural law when he built his tree house.

"Natural law" -- I don't think that means what you think that means.

That's what I mean.

+1 Fuck you for treating "lesser" creatures like trash.

What would it have cost you to live and let live?  One summer sweeping away a bit of bird shit?

I warned 'er. Or them, there was a flock of pigeons on my balcony before this happened. If you don't act early enough you gotta support the consequences.

So my 'hushes' were ignored but I only discovered that after returning from the 1 week vacation in Crete. Opened the balcony door at night to get some cold air. Nuthin', still hot inside. So I stepped out on the balcony. Nuthin', still an enjoyable summer evening. Make a few steps around getting cozy and... almost have a heart attack when some creature makes an awful noise and bird is obviously trapped between me blocking the exit and wherever she was.

Let her go, not without a serious scare.

Next night I had something of a Hitchcock's "birds" experience, only it was only one for what I can tell. She kept coming back, again and again, even after hushes that even my neighbors heard.

Even hit her with a broom. In air. You can kill them easily if you want but I tried to harm her as little as possible for her to understand "goodbye".

Nuthin'.

It was then (the morning) when I observed there was more shit around than usually. I'm not generally obsessed with cleanliness (you recognize an euphemism when you see it, right? :P) but I saw there was much more shit on the balcony than I usually do. Looked for the traces of it and... Nuthin.

She hid her nest reasonably well but experience and conjecture didn't help 'er. A nest and eggs.

Thanks God they're only eggs. I might have killed her chicks too, done that enough times to not care anymore, so what's an egg?

End of story.

She came back a few more times trying to comprehend it's over. Hushed her gently then firmly until she finally fucked off.

Nice. Very nice.

And if you agree to press "delete" just like me on my next post, I'll tell you stories :D

By the way, I didn't smash her eggs although it took quite some willpower to carry them all the way to the trash can downstairs and lay the whole bag gently on top instead of letting go as I usually do with my bottles.

But she's not a cat. And it'll take 100 million years before she's not a cat but a cat that prays on those eggs. And I haven't got the patience I used to have.
