Asylum seekers do NOT have the right to go where they like, they have the right to claim asylum in the FIRST 'safe' country they reach outside their own country.

Also, they are portrayed as a man, wife and 3 kids.

The reality is that they are 90%+ men in their 20s and 30s

"In Turkey, about 70 percent of registered Syrian refugees are women of all ages and males under 18. About 30 percent are children under 12 years old, according to data last updated Jan. 12.

Women of all ages and boys under 12 years old represent about 62 percent of the population."

OK, so it's mostly fit males who survive the sea crossing. Women and children are stuck in refugee camps in across the sea. Not surprising.

These refugee camps are cesspools of infractionality, abuse and bullying. I guess, sort of like prisons.

I read a testimonial once about a Romanian engineer who fled the country in the 80's, during the communist regime. He went through a refugee camp in Austria and the population he found there, including co-nationals was far from angelic. There were fights and bullying, he had to constantly watch his back and like in prison, hide the fact he's planning an escape (found an employer so he could leave the camp).

Perhaps having such people immigrate was actually useful in the harsh 1800s when brute work was required to build the US. But there's little to no such work needed today.

If you keep people in crowded conditions, without hope, without nothing to do - they tend not to be on their best behaviour.

This is why my grandma was so desperate to escape German captivity when she was taken POW in 1944. She didn't want to get stuck in a female POW camp. She told me that her co-inmates started arguing and bitching very quickly after being taken prisoner.

For ghettos, this is a feature, not a bug.
