I keep hearing about this internet thing. Maybe some day I will try it.

More questions about me "home work"... :)

I'm thinking about putting some code in DLL library so it can be updated without having to compile the whole thing over....

Do you thing that for file names / path names the code should support ascii / wide chars or both?

All file names should use a random combination of capital i, lower case l, digit 1, capital O, and digit 0, to facilitate visual recognition.

Who would not love a file name such as 11lI0O1lOO0O1Ill1Il.dll especially if installation requires manually typing in a file name printed in the manual in a 6 point font in dark grey ink on a light grey background.

For extra credit,  subdivide subsection to of the filename using hyphens and minus signs, which are of course different from each other.

I learned Fieldata back in the '70s. I've never needed anything else.

OMG, I thought this was another useless troll thread but then you dropped that bit of trivia about the Fieldata encoding, which led me to find out that not only can you still buy a NEW 1950s style Univac computer, sold for compatibility with ancient code, it still uses Fieldata!
