Be a zebra, not a unicorn
Pearls before swine - everyone in this forum is a monkey locked in a cage.
If your goal is to be a zebra (actually profitable business), you have to bootstrap.
VCs are interested in investing in the next Google/Facebook/etc. I.e., a single homerun investment that establishes them as legendary investors.
A VC is not interested in investing in business that have a 20% annualized return on capital and wind up with a total value of $10M.
But as an individual, you'd take a business with $300k/year profit.
