They sure are into this "elite" meme.

I didn't think there WAS a "Washington Elite" until Trump mentioned it.  If you're in Washington, you're not Elite, the Elite move to New York city.  THAT is where the financial Elite live, and they make WAY more money than you or I, that's what makes them "The Financial Elite".

But DC?  Nobody "elite" lives in DC.  Just poorly paid, hard-working Government workers on the GS schedule, trying to do their best for the American People.  Or poorly paid, hard-working Military workers trying to keep our military deterrent up.

Even the Military Elite doesn't hang around DC.  The leadership is in the Pentagon, but THEY don't get paid a lot either.

Now, the Beltway Bandits, Corporations feeding off the Military-Industrial Complex, yeah, sure, THEY are "elite" alright.  Multi-million dollar CEO salaries for military arms manufacturers.  But even THEY don't live IN DC.  THEY are not considered the "DC Elite", they're corporatists again.

So who ARE these "Washington Elites" the right keeps talking about?  I submit they're a mythical animal that doesn't really exist, who you can blame all the bullshit the Corporations pull on you.  That way, the Corporations can justify "Hey, it's not US who screwed you over (although it was) it's the Washington Elite!  Vote for us again!"

Georgetown, DC.

Obama lives there. Nancy Pelosi has a house there. Kerry has a house there.

RP, do you want to research on this?

None of whom make 1/10 what Mnuchin makes in a year.

So who's "elite" again?

They tried to say Obama was a "rock-star" back in 2008, and that didn't work then.  This "elite" thing sounds like something the Russians would push.  Don't they have a big hard-on against the "Elites" vs. "The People"?

Though they call it "The Bourgeoisie", I think.  Funny how Republican talking points echo Russian Communist Manifesto points of view.

I mean, if you're going to trash the "Elite", surely that's the "Elite" who's enriching themselves, rather than helping the country.

Though if you look at it THAT way, Trump and his entire cabinet are WAY more "elite" than any Democrat in office.  So I still don't understand how "The Washington Elite" gets any traction.

The neocons pushed lines about "end of history" which was marxist/engels drivel. The GOP has been reciting Communist barking points for years.

Ummm I live in Northern Va and I can tell you that plenty of Washington DC elites live in a place known as Tyson's Corner in the city of Mclean VA. Some of the Kennedys live there. Need I say any more?

Yes.  What makes these Tyson-corner, Mclean VA people "elite"?  And if they ARE "elite", what makes them "Washington Elites"?

To my knowlege, the Mclean VA area is a hot-bed of CIA and Defense Contractors.  But somehow I don't think CIA and Defense Contractors are what Trump was running against when he mentioned "Washington Elites".

He implied there was a cadre of beltway insiders, getting rich off Government work ripping off the public.  But the only one I see getting rich ripping off the public is Trump himself and HIS Goldman-Sachs insiders.

That's why I ask.
