Hypocrisy In The House
So the House Oversight Committee, the one that wouldn't let go of Benghazi no matter HOW many times they found nothing, has decided Flynn calling Russia isn't worth investigating.
I heard the news conference with Spicer this morning -- he said "Nothing Illegal, just Lost Of Trust" about 12,000 times.
Apparently, NOTHING is wrong, no matter how severe, if a Republican does it. Good to know, going forward.

What did Flynn actually do wrong?

Well, exactly, because a Republican did it.
If Hillary call the Russians and assured them that sanctions leveled by, Bush-II say, would be removed once she became President -- would you see anything wrong about that?

"What did Flynn actually do wrong?"
Intelligence people leaked that Flynn told his Russian contact not to worry about the sanctions, they were going to reverse them.
Pence asked Flynn directly if there was any truth to that. Flynn boldly lied to the VP's face. (Pence is Flynn's designated handler, selected by Trump and represents the executive power in this context.) Based on Flynn's assurances, Trump went to bat for Flynn and denounced the rumors as lies.
CIA then provided Trump and Pence with NSA acquired audio tape of the conversation, proving Flynn lied.
At this point Flynn can not be trusted because it is not clear who he works for. It's clearly not the President.

"If Hillary call the Russians and assured them that sanctions leveled by, Bush-II say, would be removed once she became President"
Not if she is President elect, or acting under the authority and direction of the President elect. President elect is not the same as a random citizen. President elect is expected to be preparing for the transition and this has always, in every single Presidency without exception, included foreign government contacts.

Except the only reason Flynn could make such assurances, is if Trump told him to. Flynn has no power to add or remove sanctions, only Trump has the power to do that. Or Congress, but clearly CONGRESS wasn't telling him to negotiate with the Russians.
Trump is trying to thread the needle on legality, what he knew and when he knew it. I don't think he'll succeed.
Negotiating with Russia to take off sanctions put on by the previous President because Russia manipulated the election -- smacks of quid-pro-quo.
Now the House won't investigate that, because Trump. But the House isn't the only ethics organization, fortunately.

Telling the Russian ambassador that the incoming President is going to reverse the outgoing President's sanctions seems like a stretch for the Logan act.
Whatever. It's weird to me that of all of the freaky shit Trump ('s administration) carries out shamelessly, this is the thing that forces a resignation.

"Mr. Flynn and Mr. Pence spoke twice in the past few days about the matter, but administration officials said that rather than fully apologize and accept responsibility, the national security adviser blamed his faulty memory — which irked the typically slow-to-anger Mr. Pence.
"The slight was compounded by an episode late last year when Mr. Pence went on television to deny that Mr. Flynn’s son, who had posted conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton on social media, had been given a security clearance by the transition team. The younger Mr. Flynn had, indeed, been given such a clearance, even though his father had told Mr. Pence’s team that he had not.

If Flynn is a Democrat, how come he spoke at the RNC convention saying about Hillary "Lock Her Up!" -- he led the cheer from the podium.
Are you often confused by labels?
